Extra recipients (CC)
Send a copy of every form submission to up to five more addresses. Each recipient confirms first and can stop copies at any time.
Every submission is emailed to the address that owns the access key. To send copies to colleagues too, add them as extra recipients in the dashboard. Each one confirms from their own inbox before anything is sent to them, and every copy carries a link to stop.
Add a recipient#
- Sign in with the email address your form delivers to and open the form.
- Under Extra recipients, enter an address and choose Add recipient.
- SilentForms emails that address a link to confirm. Until they confirm, the list shows them as "Waiting for confirmation" and they receive nothing.
- Once they confirm, they receive their own copy of every new submission.
A form can have up to five extra recipients. Resend sends a fresh confirmation link to someone who has not confirmed yet; the link stays valid for 24 hours. Remove takes someone off the list at once.
Why recipients confirm first#
Without confirmation, anyone could type a stranger's address into a form setting and use SilentForms to send them mail. Asking each recipient keeps copies to people who agreed to them, which also keeps your notifications out of spam folders.
What recipients receive#
Each recipient gets their own email, not a message shared with everyone, so recipients do not see each other's addresses. The copy has the same subject, intro text and fields as yours, and replying goes to the visitor, just like your copy.
Instead of "Mark as spam" and "Stop emailing me for this form", a recipient's copy has a single link: Stop receiving these copies. It removes only them. Mail apps that offer a one-click unsubscribe button use the same link.
Copies follow your own email setting: while "Email me every submission" is off for the form, nobody receives copies.
The ccemail and _cc fields#
Forms moved from Web3Forms (ccemail) or Formspree (_cc) can keep those fields, but they do not add anyone. Copies go only to recipients you added and who confirmed, so an address typed into the field by a visitor, or left in your HTML, never receives mail. This is deliberate: a field anyone can edit must not decide who gets email.
<!-- Accepted, but only confirmed recipients receive copies -->
<input type="hidden" name="ccemail" value="[email protected]">Next steps#
- Set a default subject and intro text for everyone's copy: Email subject.
- Send submissions to a team chat or spreadsheet instead: Webhooks.
- Moving a form over: Switch from Web3Forms or Switch from Formspree.
